Welcome to the Cross Inn - Free House

The old Cross Inn was originally on the coach route between Bridgend and Bryn.  At that time the road ran behind the building.  The pub was re-built in 1906.  Where the Beer Garden is situated there used to be a bakery.

In September 2005 the field behind the pub was ploughed and the structure of the land altered.  After torrential rain for several days the water washed the loose earth down into the back of the pub.  The mud blocked all the drains, the force of the water broke down the back door, swept through the building and  down the hill to Mill Street.  Several houses were also flooded.  This was a traumatic time for all concerned.  After weeks of hard work and help from many local residents, the Cross opened again for business in December 2005
